A few days from now will be Ondoy‘s one year anniversary.

I definitely do not want to revisit the horror and get acne breakout by having a lot of sleepless nights. Of course, the memories are still there which makes me in a panic mode whenever it rains hard and the children are still in school or are en-route towards home. I have noticed, and so have others, that a mere 30 minutes heavy downpour makes the streets not passable when otherwise these weren’t the case.

I often wonder about the people whose lives were severely affected by that tragic day. I remember talking to a fellow homeschooling mom whose family abandoned their new home because it still had floodwater IN it after a few weeks. The horror!

I really hope the lessons learned will be a guide to being better persons, with ot without a tragedy like that.
