The theme for this week is FURRY so I went the easy way and featured our APBT, Chichi in my other blog.

Below is a photo of one of my Okra plants’ flower bud:

These hairy okra (lady fingers or gumbo) buds from my okra plants. These are planted in our mini backyard vegetable garden :)

Who would have thought I’d be able to plant these and they would live for me to see them? We might even make good on our promise to eat healthy food from the backyard some day, even if these food is not that plenty. I even wrote something about my black thumb before so I guess  don’t have a very black thumb at all :D

Check how it looked like when the plants were just sprouts. Thanks for the visit and have a great weekend!

Now hubby and I are off to get ready for work. I hope hubby would be able to do something about the auto insurance quotations his friend is thinking about getting for his new car.

Mussels are one of the favorite things to have for lunch especially during weekends when I have time to go to the nearby wet market. Everyone but our son enjoys this whether baked or cooked/boiled with lemongrass.

In short, we had mussels again last weekend and since we weren’t able to have the baked ones for dinner, my daughter Trix asked me to just prepare these for her lunch in school.

These were baked with garlic, butter and finely chopped parsley. Was supposed to make the mix but since we still have a small tub of this from a bakery, that was what I used.

The younger children and I had a different lunch although these were not all eaten because we had free lunch at work and with KFC fried chcken, they didn’t even look at our viand. Good thing I did not take even a single photo of it :D

Anyway, for snacks, we had the Banana-Oats-Chocolate chips bars which I featured in my other blog. Should have been muffins but we ran out of muffin liners.

Chipped old and historical walls of Intramuros, the seat of Spanish government in the Philippines more than a hundred years ago I am not sure though if this is an original wall or has been restored already

My other entry is here, a chipped wooden bench

Chipped wall in Fort Santiago, Intramuros, Manila.

More photos of Intramuros here, here and here.

I saw this in Cookie‘s food blog as her Lasang Pinoy Sundays leftover entry and where my entry was a BBQ Omelet. Yum to both!

Why did I say yum to both?

Because I cooked the BBQ omelet and I also tried what Cookie did. Yes, I did. And I did some “tweaking” and added chocolate chps because we don’t have any walnuts.

Here is a photo of what I made:

Muffins and mini-loaves with banana, chocolate chip and oats.

We have enjoyed a relatively cool weather the past few weeks.

I miss those days never mind if it was still to dark and too cold to get up and prepare breakfast. Taking a bath was difficult but I didn’t mind even if my teeth were chattering even with just the thought of going to the bathroom.

But now? Its starting to get humid. Sure, it is still a bit cool in the mornings but there are none of those chill through the bones feelings where a cup of coffee would do wonders.

Sniffles here, sniffles there. I don’t mind actually, as long as my children or I am not the one who is doing the sniffling.

The ants are back with a vengeance. Hmph. They are everywhere!

My eldest daughter’s lunch for Monday consisted of Creamy Dory Fish Fillet, queso de bola (cheese ball) slices, bread, water and orange juice. She was supposed to buy rice from the canteen. Well, she was supposed to have her lunch there too but that didn’t happen.

Anyway, here’s the Fried Creamy Dory Fillet she had in her lunch box with a recipe here.

I had to photoshop this photo a bit because I had some difficulties taking the photo at 5:15am, was still groggy from sleep.
