Last Saturday, the FilipinoMomBlog.com “family” had a get-together at Cookie’s home to celebrate LadyCess and Feng’s baby shower. it was also Cookie’s birthday month so the event was celebrated in her home.

Here is a photo of us which was taken by my son:

In our midst is the AnnaManila who took time to grace the special occasion.

Of course when we get together, expect a lot of laughter, a lot of photos and more laughter and photos :)

Happy mom = happy home, so they say.

I am so happy I met these wonderful ladies with smiles that bring warmth to my heart.

Not so long ago, as soon as the Halloween invitations were out, the FilipinoMomBlog.com children prepared to go trick or treatin‘  at a nearby mall wearing their fun costumes.

Looking at them last night during a dinner hosted by Cookie in her newly-painted lovely home, I can’t help but be nostalgic, feeling that these children seem to be growing up too fast.

As a parent, no matter how fast my children seem to grow and mature, they would always be my babies :)

Everyone is in a hurry. Where to? For what? To do what?

We have machines and gadgets that are supposed to make doing things easier but still there is NEVER enough time.

We even have people doing things for us like cooking, doing the laundry, cleaning the house and even taking care of the children because we are simply too busy to do these things. In this household, we have a little help for the second and third chores, but the rest of the tasks needed to run  a home and a family fall on my lap. If I don’t get a little help I might not be able to do the more important things for me.

People scurrying here and there, catching up with so many things at the same time. Multi-tasking they say, and I think, “no kidding.” Who am I kidding, I tell this to myself too.

Go slow.

Stop and smell the roses.

Savor life’s little victories.

Be thankful.

And remember, slow cooked food tastes better than fast food :) (Ok, I just made that up but it does ring true, right? teehee!)

For a glimpse of our country’s flag, click here (my other PH entry).

Last year, we joined other homeschooling children who are under the same school set-up to celebrate United Nations’ Day on October 24.

We belonged to the group that represented Australia/Oceania. Below are some hand-made flags for the presentation:

Flags are very important not just in recognizing a nation but as a symbol of this nation’s sovereignty and freedom. I hope.

Happy flag hunting!

I am always too busy to write unless necessary ;) I am thankful for weekly memes that I join which give me reasons to post regularly in my blogs.

Homeschooling takes a lot of my time away from blogging as well as other mundane tasks too many to mention. And there is this new hobby. Farming.

Remember these okra, pechay and ampalaya (bitter gourd) yield? Something like that except these are gone now, along with my herbs :(

The rains did them damage. The snails love the leaves of the okra plant and sweet potatoes. No matter how many times I throw these creepy crawly snails out, they seem to be coming back, chewing like they are challenging me to throw them out.

Ok, back to farming. Even my son is excited about this new hobby of mine but hubby is not happy. At all.

Why not? Because this is not the kind of farming that will give us real food.

When i was still in elementary grades, I thought the Chocolate Hills in Bohol are mounds of chocolate Kisses that used to be brought home by my papa when he can get some from his workplace.

The children spent several weeks vacationing in Bohol with my MIL and their cousins. Below is a photo that my daughter took of Chocolate Hills, during one of their trips there.

Please click the photo to enlarge.

Was I disappointed that these were not giant chocolate Kisses? Naw, I would not want to eat dirt, would I? :D
