They are beautiful. Their wonderful disposition in life radiates their beauty more.

They are successful in their respective careers, having their own centers and living the life of young (ok, not that young anymore) urban professionals.

They like to travel a lot during free time. They have their own rides, their own condo units and their own work place (didn’t I say this earlier?).

So what has made them singles till now? I have written a post about them a year and a half ago and nothing has changed, except their age, maybe their hairstyle and probably their weight.

I know there are a lot of things to consider before one finally finds the “man” one who would walk with them down the aisle to exchange sacred marriage vows with.

Things to consider are the gown, venue, a variety of engagement rings to choose from, flowers, photographers, caterer, and a whole lot of hoopla that can deplete or make a big dent on one’s bank account. Just kidding ;)

More than once I have exchanged jokes with them that I will pay for the clothes my children will wear for their wedding ceremonies. I also told them I want to attend more children’s party since there are only a handful of my friends with children. No such luck though. Not that they are unhappy being what they are now.

I really wish they have someone to grow old with. Is this wishful thinking?

Sunday was spent at home. The kids had fun playing with their favorite pc game called Fate.

I inspected the “garden” to see how my seedlings are doing, after being planted by Manang Salve in a plant trough for these to grow. She said she will replant these when these are big enough to transfer.

I hope she knows what she is doing for I don’t want to wait for weeks before we find out that the method doesn’t work. Oh well, I might get another seed packet just to be sure.

Anyway, here are the tiny okra seeds as of yesterday:

Every Saturday, participants post photos based on a theme. The theme for this Saturday is SCARY.

Just in time for Halloween but I will not focus on the theme but on a different kind of scary actions.

Watching a racing sport is both exhilarating and scary. Take a closer look at that yellow Ducati here. One wrong move and the riders may have an accident. My hubby had a minor accident in this same race track last year :(

Speaking of motorcycles, there has been a great increase in the number of motorcycle riding people here in the country. Why not, its is definitely more inexpensive than getting a car. It is also better than riding the public transportation which in itself is scary enough.

There has also been a significant increase of road accidents (and death) on a DAILY basis because riders have been irresponsible like this one:

Pardon the poor quality, we (our family and that family) were both in transit when I took the photo, plus the windows are tinted. Scary ride, isn’t it?

But what is really scary is the uncertain future. Not just the Americans but people all over the world being affected by the financial and economic meltdown. I have written a post about it here.

People are scared because the financial giants/institutions are slowly crumbling down one by one.

Is the future for you bleak and scary? Are you hopeful and positive?

By the way, I have another scary entry here.

Yes, I used to be a fan, still am, if I have chances to watch matches. I used to enjoy watching those Royal Rumble matches.

Some wrestling names that I clearly remember are Lex Luger, The Undertaker, Bret (The Hitman) Hart, Shawn Michaels and British Bulldog.

I sort of hated the Japanese wrestler Yokozuna because he was big, even bigger than the other wrestlers.

I often wonder how much food these wrestlers consumed daily to have those big muscles. I even thought then that they may be using bodybuilding supplements. Come on, nobody would be that big without any help or boosts. There were controversies here and there but those didn’t stop me from watching the matches then.

Why was I interested to watch these matches? Because I was learning from them. Yes, and here are some of the lessons I have learned:

Children and adults who are undergoing Occupational Therapy go through different tasks. Depending on their level of accomplishment and skills, they are taught a lot of skills needed to be able to help them to do Activities of Daily Living.

Activities of Daily Living consist two major areas: Self-help care and Environment Manipulation, of which the latter will be the gist of this post.

Below are some of the activities that need to be accomplished in Environment Manipulation:

  • Being able to handle switches like light switches, and switches of electrical and electronic gadgets.
  • Being able to open door knobs and door handles.
  • Being able to use different kinds of faucets like kitchen faucets and bathroom faucets in doing kitchen-related tasks and self-care practices.
  • Being able to operate phones or gadgets for telecommunication purposes.
  • Being able to operate remote controls for different purposes.

Teaching these take a lot of hard work but the end result are good for both the patient’s mobility and ability to do things without too much dependence on others doing these things for them.

After all, one of the major purposes in having these services is for these children and adults to be able to do things independently.

I got a lunch invite to go to Bubba Gump Shrimp Company in TriNoma. I was a bit skeptical but I agreed to go since it was a free day for me anyway.

I sent Cookie an sms asking her to come with me and we met at the the venue.

Guess who was there to greet us, the bloggers/guests? It was Forrest Gump of course!
