I went out of the house do something in the *dirty kitchen when I spotted the second full moon of this month hiding behind fast moving clouds.

Second Full Moon for January 2010

Aha! I see you moon! I grabbed my camera and didn’t bother getting the tripod. I know the photo will not come out clear like some of these moon photos I have online but I like the way the clouds look.

Eerie, creepy clouds like those ps3 animation games :D

*dirty kitchen means kitchen outside the main house where washing of plates and other chores like cleaning of food to be prepared are being done

You want to know what I make?

I make kids wonder,
I make them question.
I make them criticize.
I make them apologize and mean it.
I make them write, write, write.
And then I make them read.
I make them spell definitely beautiful, definitely beautiful, definitely
beautiful
over and over and over again until they will never misspell
either one of those words again.
I make them show all their work in math.
And hide it on their final drafts in English.
I make them understand that if you got this (brains)
then you follow this (heart) and if someone ever tries to judge you
by what you make, you give them this (the finger).

The North Face brings you Thrill of the Trail NUVALI happening on Valentine’s Day, February 14, 2010 at the Nuvali, San Pedro, Laguna.

The North Face Thrill of the Trail NUVALI

Since this is an event happening on Valentine’s Day, Thrill of the Trail NUVALI decided to add twist to the fun of doing trail running! What is it? There is an 11k Couples category where the couples participating in the trail run need to cross the finish line together while holding each other’s hand. No gender restrictions for the running couples.

Did I get you interested? Then be a  fan of the Thrill of the Trail Facebook fan page.

Sweeeet! Talk about HHWW (holding hands while walking or in this case, while finishing a trail run).

This trail run seems so much more fun than doing a run on paved road.

Our youngest daughter is good with the arts.

She was able to learn how to play the recorder by just watching YouTube videos. She can also play the piano by ear. She can also draw well by following instructions from yes, YouTube videos. She has a hard time with mathematical problems though. Oh well..

Musician and/or graphic artist in the making? She says she wants to be a teacher. Ahem.

Our son on the other hand is great with numbers.

He is good with statistics and is quite interested in gathering data on things he find interesting like world population, areas of countries, top speed of exotic cars and even world records like tallest buildings.

This early I am thinking that he can do well in actuarial science, you know that discipline about statistics, economics and risk taking (read: life insurance policies among others).

Yes, I know I am getting ahead of time when I think about this since he always say he wants to be a chef. Ok then…

Our eldest daughter, on the other hand, wants to do something that is connected with designing.

Do you know what your children are good at? Do you know what they dream of becoming when they grow up?

Balanced. Balancing.

Performing show dogs entry here. Sparrow on a tree branch entry here.

My youngest daughter and my husband, balancing themselves as they go down a river embankment to wade in the river water.

Balanced: Going Down the River Embankment

Our son went down alone and hubby and our youngest daughter went together. I told them to be careful going down (I had that painful sprain at that time so I wasn’t able to join them).

The kids had a lot of fun of course, never mind if they were cold after wading in. Our son said he wanted to go back there when we visit my parents again, and probably have picnic :D

That mothers love their children and would do anything and everything within their capacity and even beyond leaves not a doubt in my mind.

Being a mother of three young children, I can say that I put my children’s needs before my own. The fact that I homeschool the two younger children for three years now and by tending personally to their needs made me take my career on a yield. Well, sort of, since I still work on a part time basis.

So when the news about the authorities getting Jason Ivler who was just hiding in their home for several weeks after being subjected to a manhunt, broke early morning yesterday, I was interested in what has happened.

The fact that he is wanted for not one but two homicides and that he opened fired at the authorities using armor piercing bullets shows how guilty he is.

The authorities got his mom too, Marlene Aguilar, an author (I removed the link to her website), who asked him to surrender and who even said she got an email from him and that he is in the USA when in fact he was just hiding in their home.

I would like to say I pretty much understand that Marlene loves his son dearly.

BUT I am assuming too that maybe, just maybe, she is afraid of her son too, knowing his capacity to hurt people.

The fact that he fired on authorities and wounded two of them using armor piercing bullets and that he used a baby armalite speak volumes on what he can do.

Would I do the same if one of my children gets involved in murder?

The answer is NO.

And I really hope to God we won’t have to go that way.
