These (almost) three years have been blissful, save for some misadventures you have done as a puppy and some when you are a bit older. These were all forgivable.

When I opened the door this morning for Trixie to go outside, it finally hit me, that you are really gone.

You were one of the most gentle dogs humans can ever have.

You loved going to us, laying yourself on the concrete floor for a tummy rub or a pat.

You go to the kids and put your head near to have them pet you. When they are playing outside, you go near them as if wanting to join the fun.

You sneak in the house when the door has been left opened even for just a fraction and scramble out when you hear my voice

You always have that gentle look in your eyes, that “smile” that seems to form on your lips when you see us.

Yes, you were gentle and you didn’t probably fight enough against those powerful jaws that snuffed out the last breath you had in you.

I’m so sorry Sparky for not being there last night for you when you most needed us. My tears are worthless but still I cry till now.

Trixie will forever have you memories in her heart for she is the one who loves you the most in this family. She gave you your name and she bathes you almost every Saturday.

Of course I was concerned about this because every household uses electricity.

We even use electricity for cooking. What about my son who can’t use his nebulizer when there is no electricity to power the electrical appliances that keep him cool? Should people and establishments start getting emergency lights? Should we get those rechargeable lights and fans for our home? What about a power generator, even if its the smallest one?

The best thing to do then was to look for something that will provide me information about the news to avoid panic. I found this link and read on.

Over at the FilipinoMomBlog.com, we are having a Fab Holiday Finds meme that I am sure those who are anticipating Christmas will enjoy writing posts about and sharing their finds.

Finds can range from the latest in electronic gadgets, to the most delicious ham ever tasted, cookies and cakes to die for, bargain Christmas trees and decors and even Persimmon trees for New Year luck, the tastiest lechon to the coolest places to where one can have these things and more. What else did I miss?

I have decided to make personalized Christmas gift tags. It was supposed to be done with the kids but they had other things in mind so I ended up starting the gift tags myself.

I enjoyed doing these even if when I came to, I realized that spending  time doing these as well as spending MORE than I intended to, I could have said I shouldn’t have done that yet I know I made the right choice.

Below are the materials and costs I have incurred:

1. Craft scissors - PhP51.75 ($1.056 @ $1.00 - PhP49.00)
2. Red flower patches ( 8 or so pieces) - PhP16.50 ( $0.336)
3. Red circle shapes (10 or so pieces) - PhP13.50 ($0.275)
4. Shimmery flower shapes ( 10 or more pieces) - PhP9.50 ($0.193)
5. Cord  (5 meters) - PhP11.75 ($0.239)
6. Red circle shapes (10 or more pieces) - Php13.50 ($0.275)
7. Rhine studs (8 pieces) - PhP19.50 ($0.397)
8. Red Construction Paper (10 pieces) - PhP42.75 ($0.872)
9. Green Construction paper (10pieces) - PhP34.75 ($0.709)

The glue I had that at home, along with some other colored construction paper.

Overall expenses would be about PhP213.50 or $4.35.

I know, I could have bought several pieces of commercially available gift tags with this money but then, I know these are even more special because I made these myself

My son loves to collect car toys, like other boys his age. He does not get cars though that are not real-car models. Being a “veteran at age 5” of several cars’ makes and engine names, he definitely knows the stuff that make cars interesting.

He can talk about these cars with my husband using terms that I don’t know about. He can even give stats on speed (of cars he prefers) and what-have-yous. Dyno run? He can explain what that means
