THE HEART MATTERS

The heart matters, not just the physical form but all those feelings and emotions that the heart is associated with. It has been said that it is not how attractive one looks nor how deep his pockets are but what is inside the heart that matters most. The heart holds our love, joy, grief, disappointments, expectations and longing, among other things.

As a child I remember memorizing this verse from Proverbs during Sunday School: “A joyful heart is like good medicine, but a broken spirit dries up the bones.”

What would you rather have in your heart that matters most?

#weeklywordinspiration : HOME

Home with my parents reminds me of how they love my brother and I, warm home-cooked meals, flowers, fruits and vegetables in the backyard, childhood remembrances filled with joy and that happy glow from the heart. I hope my children will feel the same about home when they are older.

What reminds you of home?

#weeklywordinspiration : SEE THE GOOD

That plant is so small that it was almost unnoticeable. But someone took notice and took a photo. Me. I didn’t mind the sand, the pebbles and the rusty big chunk near the plant because I chose to “see the good”.

We should consciously try to see the good in situations where our patience and resolve will be tested. It will be difficult at times but, in the end, seeing the good will be much better than feeling bad and bitter.

Much ado about flowers. Again.
