Shelved under Health, Me

I’ve been sick for almost a week already. What should have been “just an allergy” turned out nasty. I don’t t remember getting this sick except for two times: when I smelled paint several years ago and was confined to bed for almost a week and when I was pregnant with my son.

If I’m right, the culprit is that smell of paint on the roof that our Mr. Fix-it Guy is applying. I smelled it faintly before I took a nap last Wednesday and I woke up feeling so much worse than when I felt the allergy last Monday.

I got all symptoms one wouldn’t wish for when they think being sick is a good excuse to not go to work:

  • aches and pains like muscle pain and headache
  • cough
  • clogged nose though there’s nothing to blow out but air since this is allergy
  • dry lips and parched mouth
  • bland taste so i won’t probably need lipozene just yet since I haven’t been eating normally
  • itchy eyes
  • can’t breathe
  • no fever and no itchy throat
  • ringing in my ears when I blow my nose too much (considering nothing is coming out) continue reading this entry »

We’ve been experiencing cool weather for several weeks and let me just say “I love the cool nights and even cooler mornings”. Sometimes it is so cold I think we even need socks to warm the feet while bathing. Am kidding of course.

Last week we got the children extra socks for warming the feet. Every time I go out I see people wearing arm and leg sleeves to ward off the cold. These will not exactly function like compression stockings though the appearance are almost the same.

What can parents do to protect their children from getting sick due to the cold weather? continue reading this entry »

We have that big vestibular TheraBand Ball being used as a “chair” and not for exercise. Then I found ErgoErgo, online, of course.

While I was looking at this Nikon binoculars site for the toy list items, I somehow Googled a word and clicked and clicked until I found ErgoErgo’s page.

I still love the ball, I do, but it is a bit too short when I use it when I’m online and ErgoErgo seems better. I hope there’s gonna be a store that will carry this product.

Watch an ErgoErgo video here. Looks like fun!

Shelved under Health, Just For Fun, Me

I got my blue and silver Hoopnotica travel hoop last month. Ria‘s sister bought these in the US and had it shipped in a balikbayan box which came before Christmas. Salen got hers too.

Since I’ve been too lazy to go back to my morning walks, getting a hoop would probably inspire me to get on my feet and get rid of stomach fat. Been hooping on most days though I still yet to see if anything will happen. I even think I’ve been getting even bigger where it’s not supposed to be so. Sigh…

I see my youngest daughter looking longingly at the super big hoop and I know she wants to try it too. When we have spare time, we will try to look for a smaller hoop for her to use. I think it would be fun to do this together.
