Shelved under Award, Lessons in Life

Desert Diva has been an online friend at the start of my blogging foray. Even if we live across the world from each other, we still managed to connect with each others in a way that is wonderful. I have been with her through her summer sojourns, her pains and happy moments, her happy (and some not-so-happy in between) moments with her dog (I remember when Cali ate those chocolates) and I have so admired her beautiful photos.

Did I say we are both special education teachers? Well, we are.

She and I both have exciting and challenging work that is different from admin jobs in the work force.

Anyway, I was quite surprised when Desert Diva gave me an award and I was touched by her words:

It’s difficult to read and choose five “creative” blogs. Like Killlshandra, I’m going to choose one - even though I could easily recommend several. However, I think I’m going to send this award “across the ocean” to Julie at Teacher Julie. Julie is a special education teacher in the Philippines. (We have this is common since I was a former special education teacher.) Even though she works long hours, she still has time to nurture and support her family, as well as explore her creative side. She blogs about special education topics, her life, and photography.

Thank you Desert Diva from the bottom of my heart. Thank you.

Thanks Mitch for this award, the Kind Blogger Award.

Whatever this Kind Blogger Award means, I am sure this is special.

Kind? Hmmm… Let me count the ways.

Please do not misinterpret that I am not. Kind, that is. I even blogged about the World Kindness Day almost two years ago when i was new at blogging.

I mean, I am kind to people depending upon the circumstances. You need help finding professionals who can help you children who has developmental problems? I would be kind to you.

You need a shoulder to cry on? I am here.

A sounding board who will listen to your woes? I am still here.

But if you have reached your credit card limit, well, that is another story, I may not be able to help you get out of that blind spot :D

Shelved under Award, Information

Thanks Rachel, one of the sweetest blogger and real-life friend this side of the blogosphere, for giving me another award, this time a Brillante Weblog Premyo award.

Getting an award(s) is such a happy experience especially if these came from well-meaning friends. For me, these awards are not just fillers in between posts especially to those blogs that generate income. For me, giving one as well as receiving one are both fulfilling and makes one feel appreciated.

Yes, these so-called awards may be just a virtual thing, not unlike real gifts like a bottle of perfume, a book, a pair of Dansko, or personalized thingamajigs, but these are still worth writing a post about as a way of saying “Thanks”.

Mitch thinks I am a Kick-Ass Blogger so she gave me this award. Thanks, kabayan :)

Do you know any bloggers that kick ass?

Maybe they’ve got incredible, original content. Or they’re overflowing with creativity. Is it someone that helps you become a better blogger? Or a bloggy friend you know you can count on? Or maybe it’s someone who simply inspires you to be a better person… or someone else who sends you to the floor, laughing your ass off.

Whatever the reason may be, I’m sure you know at least a couple of bloggers that kick ass. Well… why not tell ‘em so?

LOVE ON ‘EM

  • Choose 5 bloggers that you feel are “Kick Ass Bloggers”
  • Let ‘em know in your post or via email, twitter or blog comments that they’ve received an award

I’m passing this award on to:
  1. KittyMama - you know why but I will still tell you. You are one of the best writers I have ever encountered in the blogosphere. I am not saying this because we are real-life friends though we haven’t seen each other for some time. You write with your heart and you are honest about your feelings and situation, so you make us want to reach out to you and hug you, your words seem to have magic encouraging us to go on reading your posts. Ayan, you inspire me to weave words I am not capable of doing in my posts, hiya ako sa iyo eh :D
  2. Chateau and Cookie - my two wonderful witty friends whose humor and puns, intended or not are worth reading and chuckling over. No, sometimes I do not chuckle, I guffaw when I read your funny posts.
  3. Wenchie - Wenchie, you are one friend who can be very vocal about her feelings and not afraid to show it. Am I glad that I have known you. Go, girl!
  4. Lynn - Lynn, your being a dedicated mother to your only daughter would definitely inspire other mothers out there. Even if you shower your daughter with your time and other things, you still have time to develop yourself, your talents and your career.
  5. Lady Cess - thanks for the inspiration, the wit, the joys of being a SAHM. You are getting better at it and I am proud of your accomplishments, not only as a SAHM but as a wonderful friend. (I really feel I have to give you credit for that because there seem to be a lot of whiny SAHMs that I read about. )

I hope we could still be blogging years from now until I need new eyeglasses for reading my computer screen :D

Let’s keep on blogging! Cheers!

Cess, Chateau, Cookie, Feng, Lynn, Wenchie.

Thanks, for the wonderful picnic we had. Thank you for the laughter and the snippets of wisdom. Till the next happening in June.
