With so many students I worked with, there are several moms that I have forged a close bond with. To them I tell my fondest dream of what I really want to do [with my career] because it concerns their children too.

We talk about their fears too, about the future of their children. As much as I want to give them positive thoughts, we face the future with some uncertainty, with some doubts. But armed with a firm resolve to do everything possible at this time, while they can still afford to and while they are around to supervise whatever it is that will help their children, we stay positive.

We talk about what-ifs and what-could-be situations. We envision their children donning toques and aprons, protective glasses, greased work uniform or armed with a laptop and a briefcase. I feel blessed to be a part of the plans in shaping the path to the realization of these children’s dreams.
