Open Water

Open water. This is a part of the South China Sea on the Philippine side.

Big sea turtles come here to lay their eggs. The resort where we took this photo takes care of the eggs until these are hatched and “guide” the baby turtles as they toddle their way to the water.

It has been a long time since I got near the beach since I wasn’t able to go to one this summer. This is the same beach though not exactly the same photo I have featured several times in PhotoHunter. I should have used slideshows instead of linking the entries,lol.

Anyway…

I look forward to spending a day or two near one soon so I hope the weather and my camera will both cooperate :D

I have been in harbors and gulfs but never open water of the ocean it seems like it would be scary and endless but your picture is inviting.

It looks like a lovely beach. I am glad to hear that they guard the eggs. I’ve been on a beach in Costa Rica where robbers steal the eggs to sell. It is so sad. Fortunately some do hatch and make it to the sea. I love seeing their tracks on the sand.
