This is Bonifacio High Street, a high end place to shop and to be seen.

BHS

This place used to be Fort Bonifacio, a military base. I don’t really know how it came to be that this vast government property became a developers’ haven with expensive retail stores and restaurants, corporate offices and high rise condo units.

Oh well.

Happy weekend! I’m off to a baby christening this afternoon with mommy blogger friends :)

the conversion of this place into commercial buildings was actually embroiled in a lot of controversies to the detriment of the Philippine soldiers. Unfortunately, money matters prevailed.

My PH is up too.

i live 10 minutes from BHS. Fort Bonifacio, like other military camps in Metro Manila and former US bases covered by the Bases Conversion and development Act…may republic act ito to convert military bases into civilian economic centers to generate jobs and investments. pero maraming kumita dito bago mabenta sa private developers.

I never thought it was a military base, now a business district..

I’m working near high Street–

-it’s not the usual mall–because you can go there–dine—without the usual crowd l–some shops closes at 10pm–there are 3branches of starbuck’s coffee–you can even bring your pets with you.

check out the
the 3-storey bookstore as well–

a place to go—so relaxing –and safe…

I used to be a PT intern @ the FT BONIFACIO GEN HOSPITAL during my internship in college- I can’t even trace now the exact location of the hospital…

I just hope they won’t cut the trees surrounding the area….
