Stuffed toys for Bearhugs for Baguio which we willingly gave because we have to “sever” our tied loyalties to these toys.

Cabbage Patch and Tinky Winky (of the Teletubbies) were played for some time by my eldest daughter, now 14, when she was younger. Hello Kitty and Snoopy in helmets and Daniel were from McDonald’s happy meals, still wrapped in its original wrappers when I “found” them. Baby Doll with white head served as baby Jesus in two Christmas productions with my young students. B2 is  from the duo Bananas n Pajamas. The brown bear is mine from half a lifetime ago.

It was not hard to say goodbye because these stuffed toys have been not been played with for a long time. In fact, the two younger children were surprised to see these when I got these out of the closet.

I fervently pray that the children who will get these Bearhugs will feel happy just as these stuffed toys and bears brought happiness to us :)

Happy weekend!

That is so sweet to sever the ties and pass them on to other kids. I love the Teletubbies!

Ahh I hope the toys are loved by their new owners. That said I still have my teddy bear and panda from when I was a littl’un! Happy weekend

That’s an awesome gesture, Julie. I cleaned and gave my son’s toys to charitable organizations too. Hope the children who receive the toys have many hours of fun playing with them.

What a touching gesture, Julie…. How I wish I could give my share too. But living outside Manila makes it hard to coordinate with you guys. Anyhow, Gem will be back to Manila for the second sem, and by then, hopefully, when there are projects like this in the near future, I will ask her to get in touch and work with you.

That is a lovely post! Such a special thing to do, and you’re right: cuddly toys get forgotten and deserve to have new friends to cuddle them!

We had teletubies too. My dd adored them for about a year. Then she totally lost interest.
