How Time Flies

It seems like a few years ago when I first met this chubby and cute boy. He has so much energy that is so obvious there is something going on. Yes, we was diagnosed as having ADHD.

He used to be restless, he still is but restless in a different way. He used to talk nonstop although he is not so much like that nowadays. He used to be like the wind that can not be contained and controlled. In other words, he is indestructible.

He was given medication to control his actions and concentrate better in class. He transferred from one school to another and then back again to where he was enrolled first. Good thing he has stayed there till now that he is a Senior.

He wants to go to one of the prestigious schools in the country to study Information Technology. One time he came by with his brother who is having reading sessions with me. I wanted to discuss with him his plans and what he has lined up to achieve his goals but we weren’t able to talk much.

I decided to look up online what he wanted to study and I also got to read online MS in Information Security.

As of now, he is going to review classes to prepare for college entrance examinations. I know he is on the right path.

I believe that even if a person has difficulties which hinder achieving some successes that others can easily achieve, with the proper attitude and preparation nothing is impossible.

And yeah, time flies by so fast which means i am getting a year older this 2009 :D

You know what made me feel good? he recommended that his younger brother go to me for reading because he said I was able to help him a lot.

you are a blessing to children like him… hope there are more teachers like you out there… i have a 9yr old son who is showing ADHD characteristics… i just hope that people become aware of ADHD to understand chilldren like mine.

hello!! im a parent of a 6 yr old boy whose showing a lot of ADHD and/or Dyslexia characteristics.. but he’s not diagnosed yet and i haven’t tried consulting a developmental pedia.. he’s currently studying at a regular school.. but teachers and the principal talked to me already about his behavior.. he’s a distraction to the class.. he cannot be contained.. he sometimes lock focus.. im frustrated.. what should i do, one of the teacher suggest to enroll him in sports. should i do that? we’re an average family.. by saying that, we’re not rich and i cannot afford expensive therapies and stuff.. can u please give me advice on what to do.. i really need it. thanks.. i would really appreciate whatever help or advice u can give.. my problem is the same with jam. My 8 year old son is also a distraction to his class and cannot focus on their lessons, which is why my attention was being called by his teacher and guidance counselor. I am so depressed, please help me, what will i do. God Bless and more power
