Tweens are those children (yes, you are still children) aged 10 – 14. They are the new 15 or 16, as some people would say.

Their fashion sense is defined and sophisticated. They won’t go for those Barbie doll-like clothes of pink frills and laces. They want the real thing.

By real thing means adult clothes like tank top, flip-flops, skinny jeans, mini skirts, real doggy-in-a-bag or on a leash and expensive (b.r.a.n.d.e.d.) stuff like bags and shoes.

Maybe some of them would even ask for diet pills. Merde! Has the world gone mad? Why so? So they can look like their paper-thin hip-gyrating singing sensations.

Should parents allow this or should they encourage their children’s “fashion sense” to flourish?

Hi Julie,
Was able to squeeze in some time and took this chance to visit you. ;)
I definitely agree with the whole fashion thing! Skinny jeans and frilly, sexy tops, flipflops that makes flat feet flatter and all those stuff. And 16 year old girls asking for boob jobs as gifts from their parents! The horror!!!

It’s the eternal dilemma of moms. To make the tricky balancing act between giving kids freedom and making them stick to old, traditional values.

Freedom with limits is the key. But sometimes we put that “oops hanggang dito na lang” line forwarder and forwarder.

diet pills for teens? that would be a horrible idea for parents to allow their children to take these pills.
