I love sunflowers. These babies are taller than me. Even if there are a lot of buzzing bees with pollen on their legs hovering about, I still have to take their photos for I now these have short lives :(

Hmmm… methinks Scrappin’ Mondaze butterfly is the same with the butterfly near my sunflowers :D

One time, as I was looking at my photos, a student chanced upon me and saw the photo below which I have used in another Photo Hunt entry:

When he saw this photo, it was being tested as a desktop background and was occupying the whole screen of the laptop.

He asked me, “Teacher, is that a painting or those are real flowers?”

I smiled and told him these are real flowers.

Mommy bloggers have come a long way.

From blogging about their children’s developmental milestones, to writing about life lessons, even writing to make money through online connections, meeting other (mommy) bloggers and forming friendships, whatever the reasons are for blogging, moms sure know how to put thoughts into words.

Shelved under Health, Lessons in Life

We passed by a wake near our place and I found out that it was for a 25 year old guy who suddenly collapsed and didn’t make it to the hospital. Heart attack snuffed his life short. That happens to a lot of people, young or old. My SIL is in the hospital right now, having experienced high blood pressure.

We definitely do not want this to happen to our loved ones.

While you still can, you should…

Show your loved ones that you care for them and you love them, not just through hugs, kisses and words but through your actions. That goes for me too.

There are times that we take for granted the persons that we love. We forget to call them. We forget to show a little respect. We forget to make them feel loved.

It is time we take care of our selves more by doing a lifestyle check and trying healthy options rather than settling for mediocre system of care. We should also start teaching this to our children while they are still young.

This line has been tried, tested, said a million times: If you want change, start with yourself.

By the way, please say a prayer to those who are physically sick, like those with heart ailments, cancer conditions like mesothelioma and other forms of illnesses that linger for a long time.

Yes, life is short, but why make it shorter by not taking care of yourself better?

Shelved under My Family, On the Road

The kids are coming back from their month-long vacation.  No, not Orlando vacations (I wish) for them but from the province down south where the beaches are white as talcum powder.

In a few weeks’ time, its back to the salt mines for us: early morning wake-up calls, homework, projects and homeschooling lessons.

It was a rather short summer vacation for the rains came early.

Even if it the weather is not as hot and humid as before, I know I will miss this summer vacation.

To all the moms out there, including my mother, who happened to drop by this blog, I am belatedly wishing you all a “Happy Mother’s Day”

There is this Bible quote about mothers that strike a chord in me:

Proverbs 14:1
“The wise woman builds her house, but with her own hands the foolish one tears hers down.”

Mothers do their best in bringing out the best in their children through love, nurture, encouragement, and a whole gamut of positive values and virtues which they hope, would not make their children “spoiled“.

Mothers do their best in keeping the family together.

Mothers do their best to help their children grow to be responsible and level-headed citizens.

Mothers do whatever ultimate sacrifice for the sake of their children.
