I am getting myself re-acquainted in my “workplace” of more than thirteen years, that small room in the compound where my in-laws live.
I have changed the places where I taught there, from the small fourth door apartment where we first lived and I first taught my first private enrichment special needs students, to the third floor room where I spent a lot of years with an ideal number of students which included R who passed away at the tender age of 13 (this was the room where I discussed affordable life insurance quotes with a student’s mom and which I am still paying for) down to the second door apartment after I had a laparoscopic procedure done on me.
When I got well enough to move about, I went up to the second floor library of my mother-in-law’s house.
I am now situated on the room beside that house for three years and that room needs a lot of work for cleaning, re-arranging my stuff and maybe re-painting the wall.
I’m starting things small, because I am taking baby steps after three years of almost neglecting the place because I was caught up in traffic and work in another place which I have decided to leave last Monday.
I hope I would be able to get my bearings again and do the things that needs to be done
My place may not look as sophisticated and “expensively done” like other centers but that is only secondary for me, at least I know I teach from the heart and that makes a big difference
