Children will be children, people say. To this I say yes, they are playful, innocent and impulsive but more often than not, we turn a blind eye because some of their antics are cute.
BUT!
If their being playful and impulsive seem to be intervening with the usual routine that mundane tasks seem difficult to accomplish, then it is time to stop thinking that their antics are cute.
What are these actions that seem inappropriate that are no cute anymore?
- not being able to finish tasks
- being able to concentrate for hours watching a video or a tv show but can’t sit still for a short study period
- Being too curious enough to look through bags of other people or grab other people’s camera to look at the photos there or maybe grab someone else’s mobile phone
- can not sit still when in a big group and this is very obvious since everyone else is sitting down
- going out the doors and gates without regard for dangers outside
- having fun without seemingly being conscious about the danger of hurting himself
- tinkering the things in the house like channel surfing, jumping on the bed, standing up on the tv stand, putting hands in the freezer, turning on the microwave just because
- not being invited to parties
- not being able to cultivate friendships
- works best with established routines
All these and more, are things to watch out for and if some of these are present in a child you know which causes you to be alarmed, click here to read more
