This is interesting. In coastal resources management, we have the concept of MSY (maximum sustainable yield). I think it is also used in economics and other environmental sciences. Basically, it means that if the coastal resources reached this point, no matter how much investment is made, the yield will just go down. There is also a carrying capacity which basically means that an area can just sustain a definite number of people, etc.</description>
