Technology is one fun area to get into, except that this same technology has no permanence because tech people have been developing new and better things to offer to their consumers.
Was it just a little more than a decade ago when colored computers came into being?
I remember those computers with green letters which changed later to something like white or gray. These were like hi-tech movie reality to the then young people like me. To even go near one was an unforgettable experience. No kidding.
The advent of the cd-rom made computing more fun not just for kids but for adults as well. I remember immersing myself in the role of Carmen San Diego, traveling the Oregon Trail and later on exploring the mansion in Phantasmagoria.
My eldest child was also trapped in the virtual world where Sesame Street characters, Franklin the Turtle, Arthur and D.W. as well as Lion King characters reside.
The downside of technology would be electronic garbage. In one part of our house are two old personal computers gathering dust. Some hardware things like tape drives may still be serviceable, I think, if only people know how.
In fact, hubby is still using a hard drive from one of his laptops that retired a few years ago.
How have you managed your electronic garbage so far?
