Yesterday was spent at home with three sick children so a lunchbox was out of the day plan.

Today being a day for FilipinoMomBlog.com’s Tuesday LunchBox Meme, I thought about featuring the food I prepared for the Field Trip we had at the La Mesa Eco Park last November.

Below was what we brought for the field trip.

Tuna sandwiches, sliced apples, bananas, sliced ensaymada and mamon. For drinks we had milk, Gatorade and water.

We did not bring lunch food because we did not stay for lunch since we still have another school affair to go to.

Most people I know “promised” to eat healthier food and live a healthier lifestyle for 2009. I know, that includes me.

I personally made good on my promise to myself that I will try to have a mini-vegetable garden in my backyard. Well, I did and I am ready to say that I do not have a black thumb after all.

Why, see the baby okra in the photo below from the baby okra plants a two months ago.

Of course, I know the yield would not be enough if we were to have these on the dining table, along with fruits that we love to munch on and other vegetable dishes that the children can have without asking them to swallow. I still have to plant more I guess, develop a pattern to schedule the “harvest” (as if, hahaha!).

January 11, 2009′s full moon is said to be the brightest and biggest full moon for the year and of course,I would never pass this opportunity and not take photos.Full Moon in Cancer. Being born in that sign (not that I believe in horoscope much) makes it all the more special as a way to start the year.

I was not able to take a photo during the moon rise early evening Saturday since I didn’t bring my camera, tsk, tsk.

Anyway, hubby and I took several photos last night since Saturday was too cloudy to get a decent shot, tsk, tsk again.

Anyway, here is one photo that was taken, among others:

There. Lovely, magical and majestic isn’t it?

I have had other moon photos here and here.

When we went to the swimming party we were invited to last weekend, I had a short talk with JZ, hubby’s college friend (his family was the one who invited us) and my eldest daughter’s godfather about my plans to teaching abroad.

I told him I was a bit skeptical about these things these days especially regarding the economic situation of the country where I am planning to apply as a teacher.

Every Saturday participants post photos based on a theme. The theme for this Saturday is AFTERMATH.

Sweet photo, isn’t it? Other photos here.

So where is the aftermath?

See that dark patch at the level of the umbrellas? That is dirty air or smog, hanging on, keeping the dirty air where the people can breath the dirty particles. Ugh.

Having that kind of air makes people sick with different kinds of respiratory illnesses. These are not really called effects but rather ill-effects :(
