When we went to the swimming party we were invited to last weekend, I had a short talk with JZ, hubby’s college friend (his family was the one who invited us) and my eldest daughter’s godfather about my plans to teaching abroad.

I told him I was a bit skeptical about these things these days especially regarding the economic situation of the country where I am planning to apply as a teacher.

He said something to the effect about not worrying too much about these things. JZ and his nurse wife, LB have been paying for a home mortgage and have not been affected yet with the ongoing mortgage problems. (Not sure if they had Outer Banks rentals before they finally decided to get their own place.)

Lately, my hubby and I have been trying to brainstorm a long-term plan regarding arrangements in our home management. I myself is at a crossroads these days.

Anyway, JZ said that there is a certain place where teachers like me are still in demand, and that is according to another friend of his and hubby, EM. EM is a nurse and his wife is currently a special ed teacher like me who is also a (licensed) occupational therapist.

Should  still pursue this course of action? That remains to be seen.

For now, I just plan to reinvent myself slowly and I sure hope that this plan I mentioned will be included.
