We have started decorating the house slowly. First it was the Christmas wreath that was hung on the front door. There was really no need to redo this since the decorations are just the same year after year :D I just clean the stuff before I put it away.

Then last Monday my BIL gave us the tree that they have been using for a few years now. He got a bigger and newer tree from a client of his, for free.

I really had to start decorating, I told myself.

I was dilly-dallying before that because we needed to get a new tree and I am glad that we haven’t gotten one yet. So now there’s no excuse but to put up what was given to us and bring out the decorations. So that Monday itself when we got the tree, we put it up.

The children were enthusiastic because last year, we didn’t put up a tree.

To keep myself busy and my mind not thinking about Sparky our beloved dog who passed away last Wednesday, the younger children and I busied ourselves doing some crafts as tree ornaments and additional personalized Christmas gift tags.

So now I am sharing some photos for a glimpse of Christmas in our home, some photos that I took during the weekend:

I have plans to spend a frugal Christmas this year.

That includes preparing the menu that won’t be too expensive but still delicious enough to make my loved ones happy.

Should I have some diet pills ready then? I hope not.

We put up our tree just last week. We also have plans of spending a frugal Christmas this year. This means I will be spending less on presents. After all, it’s the thought that counts, right?

it will be frugal and bare holidays in my house, too. i just sent my in-laws their presents and then i have to do more shopping for my children for something that they actually need, and that’s it.

We had set up out tree last weekend but we still have to decorate the yard.

Frugal Christmas is also going to be at our house this year… But that doesn’t mean less fun, right? ;-)

and that’s true, the menu for christmas need not be extravagant as long as it’s delicious and it is being shared by the whole family :)

Hi Julie, my tree was up right after Halloween. I just enjoy doing it even if it is stressful. I am sorry you lost your dog. Am glad though that the spirit of Christmas is alive in your home still.

I had my tree up since last week, but only put all the presents under the tree this weekend.

I am frugal this year. I just hope that the recipients of my gifts would appreciate that its not in the price that could measure how much I think of them.

Thanks for leaving a comment in my blog. Please come again.
