Sunday was spent at home. The kids had fun playing with their favorite pc game called Fate.

I inspected the “garden” to see how my seedlings are doing, after being planted by Manang Salve in a plant trough for these to grow. She said she will replant these when these are big enough to transfer.

I hope she knows what she is doing for I don’t want to wait for weeks before we find out that the method doesn’t work. Oh well, I might get another seed packet just to be sure.

Anyway, here are the tiny okra seeds as of yesterday:

October 26, 2008.

Early this morning, I visited them again and saw that they have grown a bit. Oh how they grow fast!

October 27, 2008.

I know I could have bought a bunch of these in the supermarket and not wait for weeks before I finally get the produce (or maybe even not get a single okra). But at least I have tried.

hello, teacher julie! this is a very nice project. i’ve always wanted to grow my own veggies… some cherry tomatoes, a couple of herbs, etc. but alas, i’m not gifted with a green thumb. :( yeah, am a reluctant gardener.

thanks for dropping by my blog. keep us posted on your okra! ;)

I used to plant Okra when I little, courtesy of Lola. Nung unang harvest ko tuwang-tuwa ako dahil ang “la-laki” tapos sabi nang Lola, “magulang na yan” :-D

I always buy Okra here, ginigisa ko lang sa kamatis. Or siempre sahog sa sinigang.

Pinabayaan ko gardening ko this year sobrang busy sa work. Next year I hope will be better.

How nice! I love okra. In fact, I can have lunch or dinner with just okra, some bagoong and rice.

Weng, its easy naman, You can probably get those that have grown a bit na para di na ka magwait for the plant to grow. You can probably start with herbs nga.

Hope you too can start your own garden, one step at a time lang. Me, I’m not sure if these will be successful but at least, I started na :)

Hi Joy! We transplanted the okra today and some other vegetables were sprouting already. The rains and cool weather help, I think.

You can probably try some potted herbs for your daily needs, like maybe Italian oregano, basil and lemon grass. Pandan would do well too.

Start little, that is my motto in these little project :)
