The Eating Club did it again. Cookie, Chats, Lady Cess, Wenchie and Lynn. No, we did not participate in a bank heist nor planned to rule the world :D

Last Thursday night we again met for a working dinner. Perhaps our husbands are wondering why we ever meet.

To just eat together? To discuss about the latest trends from shoes to clothes to discount home theater seating to furnitures? Do we meet so we can talk about our children? We don’t have to really have to, we read about these in each others’ blogs. We even Plurk about it.

We just enjoy each other’s company, is all.

We tried going somewhere near since it was a school day (or is it night) when we met. We met at the Fish & Co in TriNoma.

Cookie and I were able to taste their sampler food when we went to the Spot Pass Bloggers Food Trip in TrinNoma last summer.

We had fruit shake for our drinks, combination of several fruits in the concoction.

Then we had this: Baked Mussels.

What can I say? These baked mussels are exactly one of the reasons why we wanted to go to Fish & Co.

Fish and fries. The other reason why we thought of going back to Fish & Co.

Seafood pizza? Shrimp pizza? Not sure what this is called, please let me know if you know. The dough was different, not the usual thick of thin crust dough but a dough that is like puffed dough or more like a croissant. Uniquely yummy.

Creamy seafood pasta which I forgot what its called.

I had fun and I definitely look forward to more of these :)

Thanks, Lynn for waiting with me until hubby arrived.

Some people that I know of are curious about me as a blogger.

They ask me lots of questions on how to be one, a blogger that is.

They ask me how come I have my own dot com. They ask me about web hosting details and articles to read, mostly how-to articles, getting started articles and frequently asked questions about blogging.

Those who are really eager to have their own dot com even ask where I get my web hosting services and how much does one have to pay for web hosting services provider. They of course, have to know the different web host ratings so that they can choose which rates apply to them and their needs.

I tell those who ask me, mostly friends, that anyone can be a blogger. The need to express one’s thoughts and feelings is a good thing. It is also a good venue for them to not just rant and rave but to share life lessons that they have learned, wonderful experiences worth sharing and even places they have visited.

There is so much to blog about and I am glad that I was able to start blogging when I did.

Shelved under Snapshots, Weekend Snapshots

We were supposed to go to a car show yesterday afternoon before going to church. But it rained and the kids didn’t want to go anywhere anymore. We weren’t even able to go to church.

Hubby just changed the themes in my two other blogs GreenBucks1 and Greenbucks2.

I also took some photos outside because I couldn’t resist the color green due to the rains we have been having the past few weeks.

I hope every one got rested during the weekend. Have a great week!

Every Saturday, participants posts photos based on a theme. The theme for this Saturday is WRINKLED.

The photo below was a part of a post I wrote in this blog a few months ago. The photo was a part of the storybook entitled “The Magic Train

The Land of Sweets where the trees are cotton candies and gumdrops and lemon drops are all over the ground. Here, the cotton candy trees have wrinkled paper on them.

One time, I left an orange in the fridge of my SIL. The orange I managed to put on the side of the door. Since their fridge was having some cooling problems, this was what I got:

The fruit had ice crystals when I got it. It was hard and wrinkled and very, very cold I felt my hands burning on too much coldness.

I love the moon, maybe because even if this was already explored by men, it still remains mysterious in in many different ways.

Below is a photo of the moon which I have been dreaming of capturing for a long time. I finally did, after I got the camera that blogging bought :)

Does this look like those smooth and fine freshwater pearls? I don’t think it is because this moon has some craters on the lower left part of the frame. Wrinkled, if you ask me, like marks on the face.

Why am I fascinated by the moon? Is it because the moon is the natural ruler of the sign Cancer, which is my Zodiac sign? I do not subscribe to this belief but I do know that the moon is one of the most mysterious heavenly bodies out there since it is the one nearest our planet :)

Have a great weekend everyone! Its gonna be another three-day weekend for us here in the Philippines because Monday is a holiday :)

Shelved under Information, On the Road

No, I am not talking about me leaving. Not yet. Not sure when, that is why I am asking when this will happen.

For now, I can only dream about vacationing to faraway places, away from the heat and traffic as well as away from stress.

There are so many places to choose from, depending on one’s taste for adventure.

How would I know then where to go?

Subscribe to magazines? One of my husband’s favorite magazines are the magazines that feature wonderful places where riders travel. We spend time looking at the wonderful places where the riders/writers and photographers go.

I personally like old issues of Yankee Magazine featuring scenic spots in New England. The closest thing to this would be to get Boston Tours packages.

I am even thinking about signing up for a newsletter that will give me an opportunity to win a gift certificate.

So where would my family and I go, if ever we have the chance to travel?

Maybe, we can go to Cypress Gardens Florida so we would be able to enjoy different kinds of rides or maybe watch fabulous shows and feast on the scrumptious food selections that they serve. After that, we would explore the beautiful gardens that they have there.

For now, this is still far-fetched but who knows?

The world is abuzz with the news about Michael Phelps. He who won eight (Beijing) Olympic gold medals in swimming, surpassing and breaking the record of Mark Spitz who had 7 gold medals in the 1972 Munich Olympics. All in all, he has 14 gold medals, the most any Olympian has ever won.

Need I mention that the predicted fortune the eight gold medals will bring him would be close to $100 million due to product endorsements?

As everybody knows by now, he has ADHD or Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder.

So what so special about having ADHD and how does it relate to him winning a lot of gold and breaking world records?

It is NOT just having the ADHD that helped him win these, as the theme of the news reports reporting on this interesting aspect about him. It was a lot more.

His mother, Debbie Phelps was a middle school principal did her best to help her son: “I believe that appropriate treatment, including behavioral therapy and medication, can benefit children and adolescents with ADHD.” Click here to read more.

She was quoted here to have describing Michael as:

“He never sat still. He never shut up; he would never stop asking questions,” his mom says. “He just wanted to go from one thing to another.”

Debbie Phelps is a big help in developing Michael and his skills. She even wrote an article with tips on how to help manage a child with ADHD: Back to School: Help Your Child with ADHD Succeed In and Out of the Classroom.

Michael was diagnosed with ADHD and was on Ritalin until he reached 11 years old. He used to be angered easily when he losses. He focused instead, on winning, on getting his hand on the wall before anybody else does. Click here to read the article.

On dry land, Michael Phelps is said to be unsure of his footing. He even injured his wrist when he had a fall. He was hyperflexible on land, characteristic of those with ADHD who manages to trip on their own feet. Click here to read about the incredible prediction of Michael Phelp’s future victories when he was just 11 years old, written in a 2004 article.

So what does this post of mine have to do with sports and having ADHD?
