Julian asked for a simple toy as his birthday gift for his (and mine too) birthday today. He chose a Nissan 200SX or a Nissan S14 according to him. Here he is paying for his toy at Toys R Us last Saturday afternoon. He still hasn’t opened the toy yet, as of now.

Is that a toy car? The Nissan? How come he hasn’t opened it. Does he know all about delaying gratification? hahaha You got a very matured little boy there — ha?

So you let him choose his own gifts. Wala nang surprise element?

Pakialamera, ano?

Yes,it is a toy car. The make says it is a Nissan 240SX but Julian says its wrong, it is in fact a Nissan 200SX. How did he know about it? The difference is how the headlights look like. That was why he was hinting at getting another car.

The car was opened on the 15th because we forgot to open it when we got home (quite late and we were exhausted) from work on the night of the 14th. Yes, they know about delayed gratification.

We have this practice of letting them choose what they want (within the budget) so at least, they like what they choose. No need to be surprised when the surprise means not liking what you get :D

I know this is uber-extra-late… But happy birthday to you and Julian!
