We have a plant that has flowers that bloom during the “cold” months from December – February. I do not know the name of this very tall plant. The flowers are nocturnal, meaning they only bloom at night. And when the flowers bloom, these have a sweet, haunting and fragrant smell that permeates the air. The children love the smell but I don’t. I have allergic reactions :D

Below is a photo of empty stalk of the flower. I took this photo as I went out the front door to go hear mass with my husband. These flowers should have been dried but I can still smell them at night and saw several high up the plant that still have blooms. Hmmm…I wonder why.

By the way, I am starting a weekly meme in my other blog, GreenBucks2. If you are interested, click here for the info. This is my entry for this week.

Thank you and I wish everyone passing by a great week! :)

The flowering plant sounds beautiful and exotic. It’s too bad that you are allergic to it.

My Occupational Therapist that I’m seeing for my wrist was born in the Philippines. Her name is Lourdes, which apparently is a popular name in the Philippines, but her grandmother nicknamed her “Princess.” She’s so tiny, but is very strong.

Dama de Noche? Lady of the night. I live on a street named Dama de Noche. When we were new here, maamoy mo talaga yung haunting scent, sabi mo nga. I am missing that scent now. I wonder what happened.
