It was said that the kiss of Judas to Jesus Christ that was the sign of his betrayal to the Lord which led to His arrest. And this betrayal was done in exchange for thirty pieces of silver. This happened on a Wednesday, which is also called Spy Wednesday.

In the Philippine Catholic churches, a procession where statues of saints are paraded, with the theme revolving around the arrest and suffering of Jesus.
