I’ve always wanted to go up in a hot air balloon. Wonderful shots.

  • I would have wanted to go up there, Carver. Ride costs $150 which is a lot of money when converted to Philippine peso. Maybe next year, I hope :)

That looks like an adventure and a half! The balloons come around here because the scenery is good and there are places to land. We love the sound of the balloons and to see them so close and to hear the people in the baskets as if the were so close.

  • Wow, that seems exciting too,Sandy. Would you consider riding in one, someday?

Wow i want to be there Julie i bet you had so much fun.

  • We did, though we did not ride coz its a little expensive. We watched different shows and went around Clark Field which was formerly an American air force base here in the Philippines.

I like air balloons too but would never go up in one. Nice tent you have

  • Going up could be fun but dangerous too so I understand. I would probably think twice too, if I were to ride in one. The tent is stationary in the car trunk, reserved for events like these :)

great weekend getaway! the balloon fest is a must see every year! hindi naman kayo masyadong excited, at talagang nag-build pa kayo ng tent within the fields. :)

  • Feng, that tent along with a mat, frisbee, and kite are just in the car’s trunk, waiting to be used for places such as these. I ought to write something about this for PMN :) Me baon kami para tipid but we still went to SM Clark for some replenishment :)

We were there last year. Kapagod lol. Anyway, nagkita ba kayo ni Rachel by chance? She’s there too according to her post. :) Have a good week Julie!

  • Didn’t see Rachel coz I left my mobile phone when we left, nagmamadali kami but we still managed to miss the flight, hehe. Yeah, kakapagod, since we went around Clark and explored different places there:)

Hi Julie! Looks like you had fun! I love to go see the hot air balloons when they are here.

  • We really had to go Sharon since this is a once-a-year event :) And we were glad we did.

What great shots! Those hot air balloons are really neat to see going up. I went to a hot air balloon festival one year when I lived in Denver, and it was really interesting. Looks like you had fun!

  • Thanks, Deb. Yup, though we did not see the balloons up close, we had fun exploring the nooks and crannies of Clark Field, a former American air force base here in the Philippines.

Did you ride? I have friends who also went. I guess it is a popular event.

  • Nope, did not ride, was just outside the perimeter fence, looking beyond the field :) Its a $150 ride and though its fun, it could probably be scary too. There were a LOT of people who came.

wow…. i would love to ride !

  • I would too, Cess. Ride is worth $150 not sure though if anything not good happens then what? Scary thought but I guess riding in one would be fun.

Hi Julie. How nice that you were able to bring a tent. We just had a large umbrella and a matting. We stayed on the shade but spent considerable time under the sun. I had sunblock but my hubby didn’t want to put some on so when we got home, he realized he should have listened to me.

Glad you were able to go. Hope Julian is feeling much better now. We missed the Night Glow Sat. night and we weren’t able to stay Sunday evening.

I also posted some late photos of the event for my WS.

  • The tent is always in the car trunk, together with a mat, big umbrella, frisbee and kite. It was fun even if we missed the morning event since we were able to go around Clark and explore some of its places. I prefer SBMA, though, not because I’m from there but I think there are a lot more things to do but still, we enjoyed our day :)

  • Seeing them from a distance was already fun, Mary, riding in one must be very exciting. Who knows, maybe next year?  :)

Have seen pictures of this event in a forum. Looks like REALLY FUN.

  • It was fun, Lovelyn. Though we didn’t see the take-off, we went around the different places in Clark which was my (and the kids too) first time to experience :) But shhhh…SBMA is more exciting for me since its in my province.

[...] That is Tania, with her freely flying kite. This was when we went to the 12th Philippine International Hot Air Balloon Fiesta. We have posts about that here and here. [...]
