Every Saturday, participants post photos based on a theme. The theme for this Saturday, February 9, 2007 is HEAVY.

Heavy is synonymous with big. Though not all big things can be heavy, a lot are quite heavy.

We women are very conscious about our weight. I for one has some weight issues after giving birth three times, I have gained significant weight increase around the middle of my body part. But that would be not good to post. So I will post some photos of heavy animals that I wouldn’t want to be compared to:

img_6869b.jpg

I don’t think anyone would want to be told she/he is as heavy as an elephant nor…

img_6888b.jpg

as heavy as a hippopotamus

But when we have these in our midst:

img_0821b.jpg
img_8227b.jpg

Ahh, we can think of several nice sweet ways to enjoy food heavy with calories but these would make us heavier than we already are.

But as my favorite saying goes when it is about food: “A minute on your lips, a lifetime on your hips”. Now, if only we can remember this before we take a sweet bite, we would no longer be heavy weights :)

PLEASE CLICK to see one way to remove/regulate the heaviness here in our other Photo Hunt entry.

Fun take on the theme and boy can I relate. You have a good selection of photographs for the weighty matters. Have a great weekend.

  • I figured I might have some fun here coz most of my posts re PH are quite “serious” :) Thanks, Carver.

ano yung white chocolate na yun? ang sarap naman!

  • Its from Marks and Spencer, a gift from a student’s mom. Sarap nga but I don’t think I would be able to buy that for me kasi mahal yata :D

Those are heavy animals. As for the food, just take them moderately. Happy weekend.

  • So true, TiOheM. But sometimes, moderately is not thought about until its too late :)

  • Mayi, at least you exercise, I don’t :D Hippo, yeah, I wrote rhinoceros at first, saw my error when I read this. Hay…Will wait for your call :)

Julie, I also like the hippo photo. Looks really overweight. Happy weekend! :)

  • My apologies, Lynn, I wrote rhino and when I read your comment,I suddenly rememberer it is in fact a hippo so I edited the post. Yours too, hope you don’t mind. Pero, that hippo is clearly overweight, I feel heavy just by looking at its enormous body :)

Great shots… the animals are perfect examples, and the sweets… all good in moderation :-)

  • Thanks, JC. Moderation? Is there such a thing when it comes to sweets? Nope, until one gets overweight or diabetic :)

No we don’t want to end up as heavy as those animals. Too bad that delicious food is the cause of it. Have a great weekend Julie.

  • So true, jmb. I feel heavy myself just by looking at them :)

HI again! I absolutely love Joni’s designs. I don’t think I could ever change it. Sabine actually contacted me to ask if I minded if she used the same/similar template. LOL I thought that was very sweet. I also don’t know if I could ever change it; that’s how attached to it I am!!

  • Me too, though I have been thinking about a new template, nothing comes to mind and I think I’m sticking to this still. Though hubby made some changes in the side bars, still, we are satisfied. I hope I could meet her soon since we just live in the same metro area :)

That hippo is HUGE! Very good choices for the theme, Julie. I do hope you are having a perfectly delightful weekend, dear friend!

  • Yup, huge. Never did I have a hard time thinking about what to post because I had that in mind :) Thanks for the visit, Patricia.

You forgot one heavy weight animal associated to heavy weight people but let’s not get into that. :-)
That halo-halo looks really yummy I’m going to pretend I did not see it so I will not crave for it later.

  • Yeah, I don’t have a photo of that animal, Grace. Funny how my daughter asked me if Wilbur (from Charlotte’s Web) is true and I realized, they haven’t seen a pig yet! That last photo was from Max’s, the buco pandan, which is also a favorite dessert in this house. Thanks for the visit :)

9 Feb, 2008 @ 10:28 pm

I’m feeling a bit like that hippo lately. Time to diminish!

  • I felt heavy when I saw that hippo’s huge body :)

So true! And I can definitely relate to this post. It has been hard for us women who gave birth and haven’t gotten back to our pre-pregnancy weight. Oh well, at least we delivered the best gift. ;)

  • Yes, I agree about the best gift. This is especially true once we reach the 30s which (GASP!) I’m about to leave in a few years time na pala. Where did the time go?

My ob/gyn told me that my body has a memory – unfortunately, the memory it has ISN’T of the body I had before I had 5 children! ;-)

Love your take on our heavy theme this week!

  • That’s funny :D My old jeans are still with me though, not that I’m hoping to fit into them, just a reminder of what has been a few years ago, lol!

hee hee hee.. yes, weight loss wud be a issue for me when I deliver! And it does get harder and harder with each pregnancy!!! but..life is short, and one must enjoy eating… ;-) !!!

  • Yes, we gain, we don’t lose everything then we gain again. It gets harder to lose the weight naturally when one gets a little older. Hope you didn’t pick any bricks there, Mott :)

Terrific photos of the heavy animals! :) As for the heavy treats, well, that’s one of the reasons our humans train for and run marathons – so they can enjoy some “unhealthy” food and still remain at a healthy weight. :)

  • DH and M, it is good to know that your humans are able to burn those sugary sweet treats and unwanted carb deposits. Me? Either I’m too tired, or too busy, or plain lazy :)
