We can’t hold back time much as we can’t turn back the clock.

What has been done can’t be undone.

What has been said can’t be unsaid.

Some life lessons are learned, some are not.

So what do we do?

We reflect the past, we try to learn from what has happened.

We begin anew. We try to make amends.

We make promises and try hard to keep these.

We try to do better, we try to do our best.

But are we able to fulfill these promises to do better? Are these promises become like the ocean waves, fleeting, never still and forever coming and going.

Are we ready for the New Year? Are we ready to face new challenges that the new year will usher? Have we armed ourselves with the proper armor to not only protect ourselves but to be stronger in facing our fears, working to fulfill our dreams and hopes? Have we put our trust in the Lord to guide us through the new beginnings we are going to face?

Yea, I’m ready, but before this one ends I’ll thank you for a great blog friendship in 2007 and with you the best in 2008!

Its funny to read your reflection as I did the same in my New Years post accompanied by the song: ‘If I could save time in a bottle’ :-)

  • Thank you too, RennyBA for being a wonderful blogger. I think I have seen your blog linked in a lot of blogs. I have read your post and I saw your video. It truly is amazing how blogging has changed how people communicate with each other, touching other people’s lives, even without physically seeing each other.

Thanks for stopping by my blog and also reminding us with this post what is really important. Happy New Year – and that is weird for me since I still have 12 hours to wait for it. :)

  • Thanks for the visit, Jeff. Yup, we need to know what is important in our lives because these things we find important define us. I hope you had a wonderful New Year. Write more of those wonderful stories. :)

Happy New Year. I like the picture by the beach. Although it does not freeze over here in winter, it’s too cold to swim outside.

Oh yes, if you do not know, you have an award which can be picked up from my blog. You are number 182. Congratulations.

  • Thanks, Jesie. I am also the one in #126, before RennyBA. I will line this up in my posts since I haven’t blogged since December 31st. Still have to finish evaluation reports before I start work on Jan 7. Thank you and take care! :)

This is a wonderful post. I went through some ups and downs in 2007. I am hopeful that 2008 will a great and promising year.

I wish you a blessed 2008.

  • Thanks, Rachel. I just finished reading what is in for me in the Year of the Rat and although it doesn’t look very promising, at least, I know I have to take things slowly and reflect on my ways. Wishing you and your family the best in 2008. I hope you are near enough to join us tomorrow for a dinner date in TriNoma with Wenchie, Chateau, Cookie, Lynn and perhaps Myrna and Dine.

i’m facing the new year with hope and excitement. the year of the rat doesnt hold much promise to me too – according to this article i read – but i am in charge of my own destiny anyway, so i plan to make this year grand :)

  • Yup, its true, Cess, we are in charge of our destiny but no matter how grand our plans are, how carefully we have plotted its chart, we can’t have sure “success” unless we learn to stop and reflect God’s plans for us. As one of my favorite sayings, one that has been written to me goes: The size of your God sets the size of your dreams :)

Happy New year, Julie!

  • Thanks, Mary. A lot of reflection, that is what I definitely need right now. I need to focus more not just what I think is the best for me but what God has planned for me.
