We travel everyday.

Even if we are not physically transported from one place to another, still we go places, in our hearts, in our minds. To places where our imagination can take us, there we go. Are there places deeply etched in the recesses of our mind that we at times dare to enter, even if it means there is no hope, there is no comfort to be found in that place?

And if we go places, do we dare explore the unexplored or do we take paths already taken or do we take untrodden paths? Do we feel better when someone else has taken that path we chose? Do feel victorious when we are the first to pave the way of this path nobody has chosen? Or do we feel alone?

There are sights to see. A wild sky bright with the colors of the burning and setting sun. A clear sky, with feathery clouds promising a bright happy day. A wild sky with clouds carrying the promise of rains. Wild colorful flowers on hills, with fluttering butterflies nearby.

There is so much to hear all around. The happy chirping of birds. The whisper of soft breeze gently rattling the leaves. The rushing of a bubbling brook, washing over rocks. Even the silence offers comfort from the din that constantly make its way to our minds, unwelcome these may be.

We listen closely to the patter of raindrops, hoping that our clouded thoughts be washed away. We long for the cleansing of our souls so that we can start anew and travel with clear minds, our purpose sighted upon, our steps sure and swift.

Why do we need to experience these things? Because Life is a Journey and we have to enjoy the ride while we can, as long as we can.

What nice thoughts Julie. I love it! ;)

Well, life may be a lonely journey. But we are all at different places along our journey and we all have the ability to live a joyous, blessed life. Life can be dip, curve and climb and of course the occasional straight away. But it’s good to believe that there is also a God who cares and loves, and will never leave or forsaken us.

  • Thank you, Raq. Amen to that! :)

  • AH, that is a lively song, Cess. I am singing that in my mind right now. That was some introspection I had a few weeks back. Feeling senti lang. I wish I could write like that ever so often.

You’ve hit it Teach Juls(hope you don’t mind me calling you this)! Very true, Life is a Journey indeed!

Btw, I’ve read the tag about your students who’ve been with you for 10 years and more. Impressive! They won’t stay that long if you’re not dedicated and true with your job. Godspeed!

  • Re Life is a Journey, was feeling a little senti and I really wish I cold write something like that often but inspiration does not come very often. Re the students, sometimes I tell them baka pati mga anak, I will still be the teacher. It is a “practice” for me with my parenting skills since some are older than my eldest. Thanks :)

  • I was feeling a little sentimental when I wrote that. I really wish I have more inspiration to write something like this more often. Thank you :)

very nice photos; enjoyed the rain picture – could use some of that today.

(though I had to skip over the buggie photos – ew) :-)

  • Thanks for visiting this post. Re the bugs, I don’t particularly like these too but I like the challenge of taking their photos :)

This is a wonderful post Julie. Life is a great journey … an exploration … a series of discoveries.

  • So true, Rachel, and along the way are lessons learned. It is really up to us how we would prefer our journey. Thanks :)
