MegaMom tagged me and several blogger-friends to do the Sunrise or Sunset Photo Meme

These are her words:

It’s official: based on clamor from fellow bloggers, I am starting a photo tag. Show me your sunsets! Or your sunrise, whichever the case may be. It has to be a photo you took. Include a brief description of where it was, and how it made you feel watching that sunset/sunrise.

I am tagging Keng, Nap, Tina, Julie, Jong, Geri, Lovelyn, Analyse, Christianne and Lissa.
I am hoping that most of you will have something to share. If not, take out that camera and take photos. At least you will be forced to enjoy the fleeting view, even if only for a few moments.

I am starting with this sunset at Port Philip Bay in Melbourne, Australia. It was in May of 2007, which was wintertime Down Under. It was a cold day, but I still had to stop and watch. It was too awesome to miss.

OK guys, your turn. :) Please leave a comment when you are done with the tag.

I have labored over our files in the hard disk as well those in CDs but i can’t find sunset or sunrise photos. I thought long and hard why this is so. And I realized this:

We always have to go home at the setting of the sun so we don’t get to see beautiful sunsets.

But all is not lost because i have some sunset sky photos (without the sun) after all:

City sunset view atop the TriNoma deck parking.

Sunset view in Subic on our way home after a round trip visit to my parents’ home.

Maybe we do have wonderful sunset views in our home front and there’s really no need to go far to see these beautiful skies:

Sunset view from our dining room window.

Sunset view from my in-laws’ house second floor. This house is ten minutes from where we live.

I may not have grand places where Sunrise or Sunset photos were taken but I can say I am satisfied with what I see on my home front. Never mind the wires. :D

Now I am tagging: Patricia for her Florida sunsets, Mar for Spain sunsets, JMB for Canada sunsets and Carver for North Carolina sunsets.

This is a great tag. Those are amazing shots Julie. Thanks for sharing.

I love watching sunsets.

  • I love sunsets too, Rachel. Last Saturday, the children and I watched the sky turn into beautiful colors on the second floor of my inlaws’ veranda. They enjoyed the different colors. We always have to go home early, wala kasi tao sa house, whenever we go out. We haven’t been out of town overnight for the longest time.  Thanks :)

Those are so beautiful Julie. Thanks for thinking of me for the tag. I’ll let you know when I do it. I’m pretty slow with tags but I’ll try soon. I frequently photograph the sun setting so I shouldn’t have any trouble finding some. Great idea for a tag.

  • Thanks for doing the tag, Carver :)

These are beautiful pictures, Teacher Julie. I guess when you get tagged for photo memes, you’re really magaling. And wow, you have one on university avenue. I wrote a poem about sunsets on University Avenue. :)

  • I actually was thinking about not including that photo since it was not really a good one, was using my MIL’s cam then. I included that if only for the sunflowers :) I have a new post (not really new since it was in my drafts a few weeks ago), Annamanila and I want you to read this one and tell me what you think: http://teacherjulie.com/2007/12/14/life-is-a-journey/  Thanks!

Julie these are lovely shots. Thanks for thinking of me for the meme but I have nothing in my archives and there will be no interesting sunsets or sunrises for a while. Sunset is at 4 pm and sunrise at 8am and it is the rainy season anyway. But I enjoyed your lovely photos and Carver’s are brilliant too.
regards
jmb

  • Seems like a cold winter for you jmb. A friend somewhere in Canada had something like -14 the other day. Brrr! Hope you won’t forget this once the sun is up and shining. Thanks and take care! :)

Teacher Julie,
These are fantastic shots! I would have to say I love the surreal simplicity of the shots from your home.
A close second is the Subic shot: it looks almost like a Japanese watercolor painting, the composition is balanced foreground vs. background. Galing!
Thank you so much for obliging me on this tag and for keeping it alive. :) Til next tag, MegaMom

  • Thanks for tagging me with this sunset sky photos, MegaMom. After I posted the photos, my children and I enjoyed looking at sunsets at taking more photos. Just right at out front door. My apologies, I haven’t done the Caning meme yet. :)

16 Dec, 2007 @ 12:26 pm

Thanks for tagging me for this, Julie. I’ll try to follow through either tomorrow or Monday. I’ll let you know when I do. Blessings!

  • Patricia, thank you for taking time to share your photos, as well as Michael’s photos. We are “lucky” to be able to have modern technology to share these wonderful views to others. :)
