Since we planned to just stay in the house today, Sunday, these were what we did this Saturday after my 8am – 4pm Saturday work schedule.

We went to UP Diliman’s Church of the Holy Sacrifice yesterday (Saturday), Hubby, Trixie and I to hear the 6pm anticipated mass. We got there early, around 4:30 pm. After having a kikiam and fish ball galore (considered as yummy street foods, not for the faint of heart and weak stomach), we decided to wait in the family garden. I got my camera and took photos of things here and there. Trixie can be seen walking to and fro with a small frown on her face. This was expected since it was just before 5pm and we still have an hour to wait of doing nothing before the mass. She has her ear phones plugged to her ears anyway so she shouldn’t complain being bored.

Here are some of the photos I took:

Interior of the church. The Mass was celebrated by Fr. JBoy Gonzales. It was a very enlightening mass about the recent sad event that happened to a young girl. What Fr. JBoy said in the homily would be a interesting post. I just hope I can still remember the details when I write about this.

Have a great and productive week, everyone! :)

Hi Julie, hubby and I used to go there to attend mass when Nicole is still a toddler. After Mike’s walking/jogging exercise around the campus, we also eat fish balls then go to church.

  • We should meet there sometime, Wenchie. We also used to go to UP for our early Sunday morning walk and biking but this has stopped. tsaka andami na din tao, there are even those who ride their motorbikes there even if there are a lot of people walking. Fish ball, sarap! :D

Hi Julie. It’s nice that your family always takes time to hear mass together. I’m sad to hear about the poor girl’s fate.

  • We always go to mass together except when the weather is not good or when someone is sick. It is best to instill this value while the children are young. The homily was interesting, had an interesting twist re people who died by taking their lives whether they should or should not be accepted in the church.

Weekends tend to fly by – especially when you have to work on Saturday. It’s nice that you go to mass as a family. The church is very beautiful.

  • Yes, so true, my weekends are just Sundays. Sometimes I even teach on a Sunday especially if there are exams.
  • Thanks, Cheryl and have a great week :)

How fortunate for us you had your camera. These are beautiful. Sounds like you had an interesting meal, too!

  • The meal, these are street foods, Sandy :D The church is a work of art, very beautiful. The ceiling is ready to be fixed, the paint is peeling. The choir was quite good too, very nice blending of voices. Thanks :)

I guess circular is a nice setting for a church. We attended a baptism today, actually I was one of the ninangs, and although the church is not circular, the pews are arranged in a circular way.

  • Circular looks more intimate I think and more personal than the usual setting. Have a great week, Niceheart :)

What a sad service it must have been…

  • It was a tribute to what happened to the poor girl, Isabelle. And imagine, she was refused entry to the Catholic Church where she was supposed to be given a mass. The priests explained how this was not supposed to be so. This happened to a place down in the southern part of the country. Now, I’m listening to the news, that she will be exhumed because the authorities think there is foul play. My, this is not good at all.

  • This church is different, MM. Full of trees and plants all around and it is so relaxing and would encourage meditation and prayer. Have a great week :)
