October 16, 1981.
That was the day when my only brother Ricky was born. I was not with my mother when she gave birth to him. I was in school for a backyard camping with the Girl Scouts of the Philippines. I remember being very excited then as I went home from the camping. I became a big sister, after twelve years! Of course, there have been instances when I used to say it is alright for me to have brother/s or sister/s as long as I’m the youngest. But that can’t be changed no matter what.
My brother Ricky and I went through so many love-hate relationships, call it a “generation gap” if you must. But through it all, I think, we are passed the petty bickerings and all we have are admiration and love for each other.
To you bro, you have gone through so many struggles in life. You have been trying to be a better person, a good role model for your college students, a better son, and a better brother. I pray to God that you will continue to do so and that He will continue to shower you with wisdom. You are the best uncle my children can ever have because you love them unconditionally.
