Kuya, my 6yo has few but significant friends because he is homeschooling.

Two weeks ago, we went to my Mom’s friend’s house to get something which my mom sent for me. My mother’s friend is one that I have known before my mom (LOL!) because I have been a teacher in a preschool where their children were enrolled many moons ago. Said preschool was near where we live here. To say that the preschoolers then are in college now means it was that long ago. Their family went to live in Zambales so they were able to meet my mother.

Now, since they were not in their house when we came, we decided to have something to eat at the McDonald’s nearby. The children enjoyed that time because there was a party and they saw Ronald himself, well the mascot, that is.

We then proceeded to my friend’s house, Wenchie, who also lives in the same village as my mom’s friend. There my mom’s friend went to see me.

Needless to say, Kuya and Bunso enjoyed the brief stay we had at Wenchie’s house. My eldest daughter and hubby just stayed in the car. They played with the two younger children of Wenchie, Bea and Pio. Pio is also a homeschooling child and a car enthusiast like kuya himself. Two weeks from now, they are gonna see each other when we have our field trip to the Nestle Ice Cream Factory.

This is the first time I’ve read about someone with the name “Pio”. My dad’s name is Pio too, you see, and I’ve always thought it was a unique name. Well, actually, my dad’s a Junior, so my lolo’s name was also Pio. hehe.

Hello to Julian’s friend, Pio! :)

  • Such a sweet name. It is a unique name, I agree. Hello too to Daddy Pio, :)

Katuwa. Does Julian cry when needs to part ways with his friends? Kelvin does most of the time. Kakaawa akala mong sabik na sabik sa kalaro.

  • He remembers them, even if he hasn’t seen those he met for a long time. One of Julian’s playmate right now is one of my students, a 9yo boy with Down’s Syndrome. He asked why he is different in behavior and thinking skills but he nonetheless enjoys the other boy’s company. :)

wow, this is really nice :) when our children make good friends we parents are the happiest about it.

  • Yeah, what makes childhood friendships even better is when we know who the parents of our children’s friends are. :)

Great to see your Julian with his new friend.

  • Yes, same interests in cars, same homeschool provider and almost the same age. Same asthma too, :D

Hi Julie, nice of you to post this newfound friendship. It’s ok if you show Pio’s face, gwapo naman eh (stage mom), he he. We got Pio’s name from Saint Padre Pio. He’s hubby’s favorite saint. My son’s full name is Pio Miguel. Btw, I would love to see you guys here again in our place.

  • Oh, that’s why his name sounds like that of saints. How wonderful. We are looking forward to seeing you on Thursday for our Nestle Ice Cream Factory Fieldtrip. Thanks for inviting us to your place. Hope we can visit you longer and not during late at night, :D
