Every Saturday, members post photos based on a theme. The theme for this Saturday, September 8, 2007 is MUSIC.

Music is a part of our family’s daily existence. We play music on our car’s 12-disc cd changer (there is a cd for everyone) when we are on the road. The children watch DVDs with lots of music. The little ones’ current favorites are the old Bambi and Charlotte’s Web movies.

So here goes my photos about music:

(My apologies for reposting this photo from the Funky theme) Sometimes when I am calling my daughter to do some chores and she can’t seem to hear me? She is using the Korg X5, playing music with the big headphones.

(Photo taken by my 6yo son Julian, cropped by me.) This is the old piano in my MIL’s house. My husband is one of the musicians in their family. Do you have a song that you want him to play for you but he doesn’t know the song? Sing it, he will play it for you and even tell you what part of the song is where your singing is off-key, ;) . The other musician by the way is Fr. Arnold Zamora, hubby’s cousin, a former Madrigal singer, who officiated our church wedding.

This is (photo taken by my husband) St.Peter the Apostle Church in Loboc, Bohol, which is home to the Loboc Children’s Choir. The group won first prize in the 2003 Europe and its Songs 6th International Folksong Choir Festival. Click here and here to read about their repertoire in a cd. Or listen to them here.

And here is my youngest daughter Tania, photographed by my brother Ricky, enjoying the music being played in the earphones she is wearing.

I hope you had fun looking at my entries. Enjoy music as often as you can. As one of my favorite song goes:

“Make your own kind of music, sing your own special song, even if nobody else sings along.”

Ooh great, you have a musical family. Your celebrations must be filled with sounds of music. I love that.

Great pictures. Grabe … pakikurot si Tania, please, for me. :)

  • Celebrations are filled with voices, above the din of silverware. When things have “calmed” down, my hubby sits in front of their piano and bang away the keyboards. Sometimes, videoke singing is a part of the celebrations but I don’t fancy that that much.

Your home must be filled with lots of happiness and music! Loved the photos!

You’re invited to come visit me at: Junk In My Trunk

  • It is filled with happiness and music, yes, at times, crying and “fighting” words among the children. :D But still, I can consider our home a happy one. Thanks!

Tanya is sooo cute! Kids these days are so used to earphones glued to their ears. Haha!

  • Thanks, Lynn :) We don’t really encourage our children with earphones, unless necessary, only when playing a pc game so its not too noisy or playing on the keyboards.

How wonderful it is that you have such a musical family. I wish sometimes that I could play an instrument, but I get lots of pleasure listening to my CD collection!

  • Music can be enjoyed in different ways, Cheryl. Even I can’t play but my eldest daughter can play music on the keyboards and flute, by ear because she doesn’t have any formal training. Thanks :)

Hi Julie. Same here, music plays a big role in many acitivites we do as a family.

We have a very musically inclined family also. Both my husband and I play various instruments, though he has kept up with his playing. Kristin plays the piano and the guitar and Ian wants to learn too. We keep trying to convince him to play the drums what with all that excess energy. So far he hasn’t wanted to. Oh, well

Loved the variety of photos. Your daughters picture is great.

Mine’s up finally.

  • Thanks, Paula :)
