I am whiling my time away in an internet cafe. I have a scheduled Case Conference with Yvette, an occupational therapist, Marian, a speech-language therapists, a developmental pediatrician, the school teachers and the parents of a student. My report, which I printed is in a folder beside me.

Good thing that the weather is now better since we have been experiencing rains, rains and rains for several days. Yesterday when classes were suspended, we (children and I) spent almost the whole day at a trade fair in a mall, tasting free food samples, buying food products, looking at products, taking pictures and having fun. It was a learning experience knowing about different places that the children study about in Philippine Geography. I will be doing a post soon while the fair is ongoing till Sunday, August 12. Hubby was in his former office doing some work and just met with us when he was done.

Today is the second day that classes were suspended. Today is a different story. My children are left in the house. Hubby has to help in the preparation of a presentation (whatever that is) in his former office (one he went to yesterday) in a business center where he does consultancy. I know, I should have backed out of this meeting but then I have already compromised and agreed to go since a month ago.

I just hope and pray that my children would be okay. I hope I made the right decision.

UPDATE:

I got home a few minutes past 4pm and the children are well and good. Didn’t wait for hubby to finish with his work so we could go home together. Thank God they know how to behave.

hi julie,

got your email. it made me smile first thing in the morning. i emailed you back.

you know children behave better when we are not around. but like you, when the kids were not with me, i always worried about them, even now that they are grown and in college, i still worry. this is when prayers come in handy.

It’s a hard job to be a parent and a teacher. I’m sure that you always rise to the occasion and do each equally well.

I’m glad your children were fine. I’m sure you excel at parenting and teaching!
