Every Saturday, members post photos based on a theme. The theme for this Saturday, August 4, 2007 is FUNKY. Visit the BLOG ROLL.
Today’s theme is funky. I associate funky with Music or fashion. Music, yes, funk is a wonderful kind of music. This kind of music has been around since the 60’s. I don’t have any James Brown (Funk king himself) cd. I can’t find my Motown cd upon which funk was born through its recordings. But I got this: my husband’s decade-old Korg X5 synthesizer:

Mean little “music box” that has a lot of buttons that can produce a lot of different sounds. Hook it up with the computer and you can make your own music using 340 multi-sounds and 164 drum sounds. One can make funky music here. ” Click here or here to read more.

My student AMT wearing her funky skirt and blouse. She has a lot of these kind of clothes. Sorry about the photo, I blurred it a little, don’t want it to end up in a site that’s not recommendable for GP.

Have a funky weekend everyone and take care! :)

Nice take on the idea of funk. I didn’t think about music. I’ve only just looked at the photo list this morning. It’s only about 8:45 am on Friday here.

Have a great weekend.

  • Saw your funky outfit photo and it was just right for the theme, Paula! Thanks, :)

Hi Julie. Hope you’re enjoying the weekend so far. Nice photos. I’m sure your husband makes lovely and funky music on that synthesizer.

Take care!

  • This “baby” is one of hubby’s treasures. The children love making music here too. If only we have space for this plus a spare pc, that would be lovely ;) Thanks, Rachel.

sometimes my kids would say, “you look funky mommy!” huh?

not too long ago, i tend to dress funky too, same as that in the picture but now that i am out of proportion, i wear something else.

you did a good job of your choices for funky theme.

  • We were belong to the funky 80s generation! A pair of red socks went with the ensemble, just had to crop it to not include my student’s legs. Not that these are ugly but you know…Thanks, Belle :)

I like the outfit - cute

  • Yes it is. I knew I shouldn’t have cropped the legs parts to show the red pair of socks, :) Her outfits are that, cute, outrageous, funky, just different. She tends have these custom-made according to what those that Anime characters wear. Thanks, Nicole :)

I remember those artists but II didn’t remember them as funky. lol The outfit is something different tho — I would not call it funky. It might be — I just never thought of that style as funky.

I didn’t enter this week — come by next week as I will have an entry again then.

  • She was wearing red socks that looks funky with the black and white ensemble. I just didn’t include the leg part to not embarrass her if it ends up in not-so-pleasant sites, :)
