My family loves to travel. We enjoy nature walks. We enjoy tossing a frisbee and flying a kite. Though we can only afford to go to nearby places where we can do these things, still we dream, we plan of going to places farther than we usually go to.

One of our memorable vacations was when we went to Tuguegarao up north for a few days during Holy Week back in 2005. The first place we stayed in was a hotel in Isabela province where hubby spent a night with other officemates when they went there for a project. On the second night, we stayed in a hotel at the Tuguegarao City proper just a stone’s throw away from the cathedral. These became our home away from home.

One of our dream vacations is to go up north again, rent a small hut or just pitch a tent if its possible. I also want to see the sights in one of the provinces down south. Dreaming is free so I also want to add that I want to see the Death Valley and Baja on the West Coast. I also want to savor spring or autumn (even if I don’t like the color orange) in Vermont, the Green Mountain State on the East Coast. I don’t know why but I am obsessed fascinated by this state and the neighboring New England states. It is good too that there are vacation rentals in these places in order for tourists to fully enjoy the sights, sounds and flavors these places have to offer. One of my students and his family was able to enjoy Boston and other New England states when they had a vacation in the States six years or so ago. They went back there three years ago and included Martha’s Vineyard this time. In spring. Wow!

That’s on my travel list too – up north, including Batanes, Ilocos and Sagada. I hope when the kids are a bit older we can all go on a roadtrip adventure as a big family! That would be chaotic-happy LOL

  • I love Batanes! The smell of the sea must be very good there. People say it feels like you are in someplace not unlike the Philippines. We also have been planning for Ilocos for two years but haven’t done anything about it yet. Sigh. A road trip up north would definitely be an adventure to look forward to. When your Nate is bigger, so his things won’t be as bulky as what he needs now, I think that would be a good sign for you to do that.

When you come to Vermont, you must contact me first. Then you won’t get expensive places, you’ll get nice places. Spring here is a mess with mud and snow! Autumn is wonderful. But the best time of all is summer! Perhaps that’s because the winters are so brutal. The summers here in the north of Vermont are cool and breezy with the most wonderful lakes in the world and plentiful wildlife.

I hope you really do come visit!

  • I really hope too. Soon. But since I am in the Philippines I think it would take me a long time to save up for that trip. Unless I get a job there as a special ed teacher, LOL! Thanks so much for the offer. Would definitely look forward to that day. As for now, I would just be content with looking at the photos in my New England magazines, :D
