Sometimes, I am. Oftentimes, I'm not. But what can I do? I still love the country and will continuously do my share to help uplift our people.

JC, yes, there are ways that we can say we are proud and ways too, to say we are not. Sometimes, it is so exhausting to just even think about how things are, what went wrong and what is going on. But as I have written (did I?) we can't turn a blind eye to these things. Doing our share to uplift our people is a good step. But sometimes I feel that it is a battle that no matter how hard we fight to make things better, we can never win unless everyone is fighting the odds together. Hope you can read my latest post (11-21-07 10:47pm) to see what I mean. Thanks for the visit :)

i dont like the things you mentioned too. i get to experience those things a lot. mahabang usapan pag in-analyze pa yan *wink *wink. minsan... i admit napapagod na rin ako sa mga nakikita kong ganyan.

Cess, that is just probably the tip of the iceberg so to speak. We may turn a blind eye to these and a lot more but we cannot ignore them even if we chose to walk blindly through these. Hindi lang nakakapagod, nakakawalang respeto pa.

The trait I love the most about Pinoys is that we're such a happy lot. We have perfected the art of living in the moment and forgetting about the past, and not worrying about the future. But this also leads to bad habits, such as extravagant fiestas, drinking and gambling, not being financially responsible, and like you said, throwing trash everywhere without thinking about the consequences.

I'm still proud to be Pinoy though. Even if when people find out I'm Filipino, they usually joke about Imelda and her shoes. :D

Ay, Christianne, the fiestas. Even if people do not have money to buy the food to be served, they would resort to getting loans. "Living the moment and forgetting the past and not worrying about the future" I totally agree. That is one of the behavior we got from the Spaniards.
