Drat, I look too dark, shouldn’t have gone swimming Friday afternoon, :)

Mommy lunch was held yesterday, May 26, 2007 at the Swiss Deli and Bistro along Pioneer Street in Mandaluyong. It was supposed to start at 11am but I got there half past twelve because I still had students until 11:30.

Anyway, it was fun seeing these virtual friends in person. Even if we had questions for each other, we were chatting like longtime friends. I sure do hope this is just the beginning of a good friendship with each and every one. After all, we do have one thing in common: we are mothers! Mothers who blog, of course.

As I have written in a previous post, I have insecurities about my nose. As if that is the end of my worries regarding my physical self. I do have some issues too regarding the unwanted (very much so) fat of my tummy. Blame it on drinking lots of sweetened drinks, eating a lot of delicious food and sitting for a long time whenever I am teaching my students and blog hopping at night when the kids are asleep. My waist size has grown from size 5/6 when I was still single up to size **. Hmm…would I consider having liposuction? I do not know if I would qualify for a gastric bypass surgery. If not, may be a New York Tummy Tuck? Why? So that I can feel more confident when I get to meet people. So that I don’t feel embarrassed whenever I have to buy my clothes. And so that I can see my feet when I am standing against a wall! :D

Maybe in the near future, I would. As for now, maybe I got to start walking to shed off the excess pounds and hope I won’t be too thirsty or too hungry after the walk. *Groans*

Every Saturday, members post photos based on a theme. The theme for May 26, 2007 is COLORFUL. Become a Photo Hunter. Visit the BLOG ROLL.
A few months ago I had an entry entitled COLORS. Just click the title to view the photos there. For this week’s Photo Hunters theme, I decided to not repost my entry on colors. What better way to show colors is through their natural setting. What better way to show colors in their natural setting by way of flowers? I do not have any gardening skill. I am just content with taking photos of wonderful flowers. Do enjoy the colorful flowers I have below:

In one of my earlier posts, I have written about our family going to two different communities in the Tagaytay area. We have a little investment in the Cavite/Tagaytay vicinity, a small piece of real estate which we are still paying until a few years more and which we hope we can have a small house built after all financial responsibilities with the children are finished. My former classmates/ friends who are mostly living and working in the USA are also thinking of having such an investment. But since most of them do not have plans of relocating back to the Philippines, they are scouting for pieces of real estate where they can retire. Most of these friends are in California. Some of them have already started investing in real estate properties since one of our high school classmates is a real estate agent. I wonder if he has La Jolla Homes for sale. Homes in the southern part of this state have a sort of Hispanic Mission homes, ranch style and Mediterranean style. Why am I taking an interest in these architectural styles even if I haven’t been to that part of the world? Because the real estate property we are investing in has a California Mission style theme as guidelines in building the houses. I just hope we can fulfill this dream of ours. Ahhh…to breathe fresh cool mountain air. Must be invigorating.

In this generation of aesthetically enhanced bodies, everything that needs to be cosmetically enhanced has been experimented on, from nose jobs or rhinoplasty to chin augmentation as well as buttock augmentation. Who would have thought even ear surgery is now being done to reshape the ears? We have seen a lot of people, women especially, with beautiful natural or enhanced faces but we are shocked when we see that behind the glossy and silky hair are two pairs of ears that do not necessarily look nice. Whatever the shape of the ears is, these do not give too much importance if the person does not use his/her ears to maximize learning. How so?

I cannot remember my Senior Prom. I do have a photo though where I was sitting with four of my closest friends, Gloria, Gina and Patty but I do not really remember whether we were Juniors or Seniors then. In the photo I wore a pink blouse and skirt ensemble which was sewn by one of the dressmakers in our town. Being in the province during the 80′s (that long ago!?) we do not have much choice with prom accessories like ready-made dresses, necklaces, earrings, bracelets, anklets, shoes and hair trinkets. All we have are borrowed jewelry like gold rings, gold necklace and/or gold earrings from our mothers. But now, there are a variety of colors, textures and accessories to choose from. How lucky these young ladies are today, they have so many choices to make to be able to look good on one of the special days in high school!
