It must be hard having learning disabilities. It must be hard having autism. It must be hard having ADHD. It must be hard being labeled as a “person with special needs”.

How?

  • It must be hard wanting to do things your way but people want you to do otherwise.
  • It must be hard that you see things differently but people insist that that is not the way those things should be seen.
  • It must be hard if people who are talking to you talk very fast and you cannot understand what they are trying to tell you.
  • It must be hard to sit on your chair for hours, listening to the teacher talk about things that you don’t find interesting, when you’d rather spend hours doing something that interests you.
  • It must be hard knowing there are rules to follow but you have a hard time following them, not because you want to break them, but because you can’t control yourself to follow them.
  • It must be hard when you want to say something but another word comes out of your mouth, words that you have no intention of saying.
  • It must be hard to control yourself from fidgeting or drumming your fingers or tapping your desk because the teacher or your classmates or your siblings will be annoyed.
  • It must be hard when you try to read but the words seem to be swimming right in front of you.
  • It must be hard when you want to write nicely but your hand won’t cooperate.
  • It must be hard when you have so many ideas but you have a hard time organizing them and worse, putting them in writing.
  • It must be hard trying to make people understand you when you yourself, cannot understand yourself.

Ahh..if people would only be more understanding of what you are going through, maybe, things will work out well.
