We know about the usual vaccination procedures being done to children. This vaccine, however, is different. This was given to young girls in Texas, ages 11 and 12. This vaccine was supposedly effective in protecting them against a virus that can be sexually transmitted which can cause cervical cancer and genital warts or HPV. Parents reacted that these girls are still too young to be vaccinated but it has been explained that the vaccine would not work if there is already an infection.

This is also presumptuous that these girls would be sexually active at these ages, it has been argued that they be vaccinated before they become sexually active. Not that this is a ticket for them to have a risky and sexually active lifestyle a few years after the vaccination, it should be taken into consideration that they are only protected against these two diseases and not all sexually-transmitted diseases.
