  1. Get Organized. Find out ways how you can organize things around the house. There should be a proper place for everything. After something has been used, it doesn’t hurt to put it back where it came from, to minimize clutter. Spend to weekend to de-clutter your home. (I think I should be doing this ASAP, :) )
  2. Figure out what wastes your time. Do you waste time looking for your house keys? Looking for the bills that needs to be paid? Do you always forget that just one thing when you got back from the supermarket?  Get organized and…
  3. Write, write, write. Keep a small notepad in your bag, or use a PDA or use the organizer in your cellphone and use it to write those “A-ha!” thoughts that might occur to you so you won’t have to waste time just trying to remember what it was that you were supposed to remember. This will save you a lot of time, energy and money.
  4. Get an organizer. You know why you need an organizer: names, addresses, phone numbers, appointments, things to buy. These are just a few of the things you can put there. Just don’t lose it.
  5. Keep a notepad by your phone. Ever had those moments when you frantically look for that piece of paper where you wrote something important that was not easily remembered like a phone number? No need to do that if there is a notepad by your phone where you can write things that needs to be remembered.
  6. Schedule your chores. This I do to be able to do the things that needs to be done. I try to stick to my schedule otherwise, we won’t have any clean clothes to wear, cooked food to eat or the house would be very dirty.
  7. Do things in bulk. Because chores and appointments are organized, it is easy to do things in bulk. Like buying grocery items that would last for several days or cooking extras that can be used for another meal or making a pitcher of juice to avoid making them by glasses, are some of these things you can do in bulk.
  8. Teach the children. My eldest daughter can cook rice, make her favorite pasta, make a sandwich, prepare a drink mix, prepare hot water for her bath, bathe the dog, put back dishes in the dish rack, fix the table before eating. The little ones can wash their hands, put their dirty clothes in the basket, pack away their toys, put their dirty dishes in the sink. Believe me, these are very helpful. Plus, it teaches them to be responsible too.
  9. Finish projects. I am guilty of this. I have gotten all the toys in one room, hoping to separate those that are frequently used and those that are not. What do you know, after a month, they haven’t been sorted. It gives me a headache just looking at those toys.
  10. Plan your trips. Plan your errands to avoid wasting time, energy and money. You can pay your bills on your way to work or when you go to the malls where there are bill payment centers. This can be easily done when you are organized.
  11. Prioritize. Prioritize which chores are more important and which are less important.
  12. Dove-tail. You probably wouldn’t want to miss your favorite tv show but you have loads of laundry to do? You can do some things at the same time, just prioritize.
  13. Make a file system. We have this, folder for bills. But…I think I haven’t put in there yet the recent bills that have been paid. My bad..

Have fun getting organized!
