Julian and I (sometimes Ate and/or hubbytoo) watch “The Life of Mammals” dvd where Attenborough, the narrator, said these concluding words:

“Instead of controlling the environment for the benefit of the population, perhaps it is time to control the population to allow the survival of the environment.”

How true. I totally agree with his statement.
